OK, I'll admit. These are weird even for me. And right now, I'm not sure these are the most flattering photos of what I'm sure will be authentic recreations of the originals. So, hold your breath (or hold your nose)...
1937 Stoewer Arkona Coupe
1965 Winfield Reactor
1973 VW Maxikäfer
And from Avenue43...
1955 Ghia Streamline X Coupe "Gilda"
1968 Simca 1501 Coupe Heuliez
I've put in for two of them. Gene Winfield did the Reactor, and it appeared in four TV shows. He still owns it. One for my small hot rod subcollection. Hope they get the colors right - the gold and green are supposed to fade into each other.
And I had to order the Gilda. I saw the real one at the High Museum in Atlanta in 2014 (Dream Cars at the High). When I get this one, I'll have all but 3 cars that were in the show.
@mg-harv Was that the same show that came to Indy? What all models does that include?
The Reactor would have made a great Hot Wheels! The paint does look great on the real one from online photos!
@randyrusk - I saw both shows! The High Museum was Dream Cars: https://high.org/exhibition/dream-cars/
The IMA show (Indy) was also Dream Cars: https://www.indystar.com/story/life/2015/04/30/five-dream-cars-need-see-ima/26659191/
I think a few cars were different but I can't remember exactly... I think the Lancia Stratos was only at the IMA?
CORRECTION: The Modulo was only at the High Museum!
Finally a Stoewer! Albeit I would have preferred a smaller one, that Arkona Coupé is for me.
A P20 would be nice too - just saying.
@karl thanks! I had forgotten the Gilda was there.
@randyrusk It would be easier to show which have not been made (to my knowledge). And to be really precise, I have the teal/copper Chrysler Thunderbolt by Matrix but the High car was red.
1942 L'Ouef (egg) Electrique from wartime France
1948 TASCO by Gordon Buerig design - the acronym stands for The American Sports Car Company (sort of). A very likely AutoCult project, IMHO.
2001 BMW Gina. Pretty obviously a Chris Bangle design.
@mg-harv thanks! I remember those. I’d love a model of the Egg and the TASCO. I’ve seen the TASCO at the ACD museum as well.
