John Kindly forwarded this announcement for Staples and Vine, a British maker of scale model airplanes and other hand made collectibles.

I wonder if they acquired some old Western tooling. In any event these have been done several times, most recently by Bizarre (Bluebird) and Neo (T80).

John Kuliak says, "Sera Staples makes all the maquettes, all the molds, casts the models (they are solid castings, and heavy!), paints and finishes the models. A one woman show, start to finish.

I have several of their aircraft, and they are superb. Unmatched IMHO. Check out the website and the YouTube videos of the work in progress. They are true artisan pieces.

John also sent along this page from their YouTube channel. Some of the videos show them building the Bluebird and MB T-80 from scratch. John says, "Scroll down, master modelmaker at work!"

Their website says they use pewter (which is tin (85–99%), antimony (5–10%), copper (2%), bismuth, and sometimes silver, per wiki)  What do Brooklin, SMTS, etc. use for white metal, I wonder?  White metal used those same metals, but there are different ratios used.
