Quietly in my house and watched the President at the WWII Memorial

Watched a documentary...the German officers who signed the surrender were really pissed.

Hitler was already dead. He will live in infamy for all of the turmoil he caused. Thank God he made the big mistake of opening two fronts at the same time, thereby spreading his forces too thin. He was a maniac.

Sorry about the rotated image. No matter how I fiddled, I couldn't correct this. But you all get the idea.
We also watched the documentary Ray mentioned but we missed the ceremony at the WWII Memorial.

I and the rest of our IocaI history group had organised a "Picnic in the "Park" event with a Vera Lynn soloist and and Andrews Sisters Trio, 1940s dancing group, a Spitfire flypast etc., but sadly it had to be cancelled. Instead I did a Zoom quiz with my daughter's family and friends, then blasted out "We'II Meet Again" at 9pm after the Queen's speech.

...by thinking about the over 30,000 people who've already died of Coronavirus over here, as well as many hundreds of thousands over the world, and keeping well away from any 'celebrations'.
