Hi All,
I always kind of like those diecast Batman and Robin Batmobile cars that I remember from my childhood in the '60 that shot the "rockets" off of the back deck, had the "chain cutter" in the front, the moving "flame" from the "jet?" engine at the rear, etc....
And in my email today, I got an offer to join the Corgi Model Car Club!
Having recently seen the allegedly - faithfully re-issued 1966 model Batmobile on Amazon, complete with action figures, for $69, seeing the exact same car in this model club, with action figures, for only $29.99 seemed like a bargain. Plus you get a Reproduction catalog of Corgi's 1966 offerings, and a tin box to allegedly keep the catalog in and the with the original packaging, etc.
Upon reading the fine print, it seems like this $29.99 is an introductory price, after which they will send you a model every month. That said, they do say "No commitment, no obligation, cancel at any time Your right to cancel within 14 days. (sic)." FAQ's, where "Cancellation" is rather cryptically discussed
They also seem to offer the opportunity to swap for a different model in a given month, and to pause your membership for, IIRC, up to 4 weeks (if longer "contact Customer Service."
But I was thinking of just joining to get the car and the additional goodies, for $29.99, by hitting the "Join with the Batmobile Offer" button, here:
I was hoping to here from anyone who was familiar with this club or even currently enrolled, re: whether it was worth it or whether it was a scam or just if, generally, there are any things to watch out for?
I'm also unclear on what happens if one wants to cancel AFTER 14 days? Because the "cancel anytime" language I quoted above seems to contradict the "Your right to cancel within 14 days" language. LOL
So, as they try to relive my childhood, since I never had a Batmobile, I would love it if folks could offer opinions on the Corgi Model Club in general, and these reissued models in particular, in terms of quality vs. the original models from (I think?) 1952 - 1983.
To the Mod Squad: This Batmobile is a 1:50th scale, but I didn't see a forum for that scale here at The Diecast Zone. So if this is in the wrong place, I do apologize, and I would hope that if a moderator moved it, they would let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Art Deco
Personally, I’d like to have that Batmobile also but am very leary of handing out my CC # to be kept on file. I’ve tried to google reviews from others in situations like this. Best of luck to you.

I am not a member, but Maz in the UK (my collector buddy) sent me some of his. Not a scam at all. They have a facebook group and listen to their customers...
Your links are to their US site, so I assume you live in the US. That does make a difference on which site you order from.
Their retro boxes and the baseplates are clearly marked China but that is about the only difference. They are very faithful reproductions.
I am not sure about the 14 days pre or post but their toll free number has good reviews...
I have MANY OF MY CHILDHOOD cORGIS OR i WOULD BE VERY TEMPTED TO JOIN THE CLUB! Like these oldies:
Let us know what you decide!!!
For comparison, here is my review of another Corgi Model Club reproduction:
