Has anyone heard from our friends who live in the path of storm? I have tried to make contact with Karl Schnelle without success. Also John Barry. As far as I know we haven't heard from either of these men and I'm sure there are others.
Karl posted this morning. John has posted sparingly due to some health issues but not of late.
Karl has been posting on Facebook. He is ok. Maybe he can add a few words here on the latest for non-Facebook people.

Karl and Margie are doing fine. Flooding came close to their cabin. Jack has been away on vacation but is home now. I heard from Rick Thompson, who moved from Texas to the Asheville area a few months ago. Rick is in the middle of the soup without power or water. He sounds OK but is, needless to say, frustrated.

Prayers and thoughts to all affected. 🙏
I am so sorry to hear about Rick Thompson and pray he will be okay in the long term. I wasn't aware he had relocated.
We were thankfully far enough up the hill to avoid the storm surge. We only lost power for a day.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
My prayers to all who are suffering that things will turn around soon.
Likewise Bob, we came close here in our suburb Kensington in Melbourne 2 years ago, flood waters came up to about 50 yards from the house. My prayers to all who are suffering that things will turn around soon.
We have had extensive media coverage over here. Horrible, horrible situation.
Bob, I apologize for not getting back to you. We have had friends from Asheville and western NC down here in Greenville to wash clothes, buy food and water. Our condo came out fine - lost power for 25 hrs and flood waters came up within 100 yards from us. We were so blessed. Most of Greenville was out of power for a week (until today). Power lines and huge tress down all around town.
Asheville and WNC are in terrible shape - no power, no water. Many roads and small towns washed away. They are sending copters and mule teams into the mountains to bring in supplies. We are running gallons of water up to a relief area near our cabin in Saluda, NC again tomorrow. 30 cabins on our road, 10 with trees through them, 100s trees on the road and 100 tress per lot are down. And we are the lucky ones.
Thank you for your prayers.
My niece, her husband, 2 daughters and my sister in law, had no water, electricity, phone service nor internet. She is a nurse and was able to get a message out through the hospitals internet on face book. She thought they maybe would have electricity in a few days at home. She also said the hospital was getting low on food and water. We haven't heard from her since.
@karl Good to know you are okay. My prayers continue for those who are less fortunate.
@grockwood Where does your niece live? We will be praying for her and her family.
They live in Weaversville, about nine miles north of Ashville. I believe she works WNC. Thank for your prayers.
