1958 Packard Hawks have just arrived. Exclusive to Tom and Dale, GLM will not be offering these in any variant.

In 1958, Studebaker-Packard produced just 588 examples.

We have faithfully reproduced them in 5 of the more popular main colors with two variants.

GLM 165601 Parchment White. (As you can see, it’s more of a cream) limited requested 60, only 59 received

GLM 165602 Shadowtone Red limited requested 20, only 19 received

GLM 165603 Shadowtone Red body with Jewel Beige roof limited requested and received 40

GLM 165604 Park Green limited requested 60, only 57 received

GLM 165605 Canyon Copper limited requested and received 30

GLM 165606 Canyon Copper body with Jewel Beige roof, limited requested and received 30

GLM 165607 Midnight Black limited requested 60, only 59 received

Why are there fewer models received than requested? In the inspection process, some models are rejected for a flaw that was discovered.

These models are available from Tom at dirn44@gmail.com, or Dale at dxd79@case.edu.

Pricing will be $139 when posted on eBay, with the exception of the solid Shadowtone Red, $159. Forum readers qualify for a 15% discount, so $118 postpaid in US, on any of the models priced at $139. Shadowtone Red models available at $135.

Very nice replica ! These look great in all colors even with Packard's unusual protruding front aspect.

Wonderful looking model. It seems an improvement on earlier model versions that I have owned or seen. At this point, I would have trouble deciding which of these colours, I like best. Perhaps Park Green, but any would look great displayed.

This is for me a car that is much more attractive as a model than as a 1:1.  Choosing just one color was difficult but I went with this one:

I'm glad you said that. The Packard nose job on the Hawk must rank as one of the ugliest "facelifts" in history.

I can't look at this car without thinking of the Predictor and wondering what might have been 🙁

I guess I am in the minority, 'cause I think these are beautiful cars. I have been very much looking forward to acquiring some incredible model examples of this wonderful car.

I've just returned from a Mid-West Car Museum tour where I saw two of these cars, both in perfect restored condition. One thing I did find troubling in my adventure this past week was, I toured two major Packard Museums, the National Packard & America's Packard Museums. Neither of them even mentions or displays anything from the last two years of Packard, which is kind of a shame.

@jcarnutz I guess for me it's pretty much impossible to improve upon the Studebaker Golden Hawk look, so I struggle with this change.  Nonetheless I am very excited to soon have it in my model collection on display with the Studebakers and Packards of this general design originating in 1953.

I'm with John M. I like the redone front end. I also like the '58 Starlight coupe. MOC was going the make a model of this one and never got around to it. I'm hoping someone does!

As a former Packard owner, I could say plenty, but I'll refrain other than to note that all these Packard-Baker  hardtops were designed quickly & as cheaply as possible. A small team of designers created "tacked-on-style-up-grades."   They did the best they could with what they had.  In person, they're really not that bad....but IMO, scale models look MUCH better.

The tail end on this car is IMHO about as wild a styling statement ever made in this era.  If someone did do it in 1:43 I would buy it just for the statement it makes and for its place in automotive history.
