@jkuvakas I thought Esval planned one of these.

And here's another one.  Similar nose to the Hawk.

@mg-harv, The new owner of MOC planned to do one in, I think, 2011 or 2012. I believe you're correct about Esval. But it would have been more recent.

@jkuvakas Isn't Esval doing a Studebaker wagon of this vintage soon?

I'm glad you said that. The Packard nose job on the Hawk must rank as one of the ugliest "facelifts" in history.

All attempt to script a Packard name on any Studebakers was a serious disaster. Anybody who looks closely to 1;1 pictures can see how the workmanship and quality of materials was so poor. A very sad end for a so prestigious icon.

@jack-dodds, I believe they are. But their website seems to be down.

@jack-dodds Esval has announced (for a while now) a 57 Studebaker wagon and a 58 Packard. So far, they’ve always delivered even if it takes a couple years.

@randyrusk, were you able to get these from their website? I can't seem to get it to bring anything up.

I like these Packard's too, in spite of their unusual aspects and knowing in real life it was an attempt, on a very limited budget, to keep the marque going until Packard designs could be re-introduced, perhaps including a "Predictor" type car, too.

I'm with John M. I like the redone front end. I also like the '58 Starlight coupe. MOC was going the make a model of this one and never got around to it. I'm hoping someone does!

The tail end on this car is IMHO about as wild a styling statement ever made in this era.  If someone did do it in 1:43 I would buy it just for the statement it makes and for its place in automotive history.

I have no problem with the tail fins on the '58 PackardBaker. It's a bit like a Royal Lancer and then some. But what I can't stand is the clearly tacked-on dual headlamp housings - in my industry we say 'very studenty' - and the name: Packard.
