Thanks ! The black and white image of the Dodge pickup driving by the service station actually has the late moderator Dick Browne at the controls, although it is such a deliberately "aged" shot it isn't so obvious !
Very nice work, Mike!

Actually Solido took a bit of modeler's license with this 1940 Dodge pickup in its many versions.  To my knowledge there was no car based pickup in 1940. Dodge trucks all had different front sheet metal and grills than the cars. But that was not lost on me as I took the cab of these and created a 1940 Dodge Luxury Liner sedan, a coupe and a convertible.  Â
Then, since these smaller Mopars shared a sheet metal design and size, I took more Solidos (plus a Solido 1948 Chrysler Windsor) and created 1941 Plymouths changing the grills, fender trim, bumpers, etc, a woody, a sedan, shown here with a Durham Classics, coupe, and convertible.

I knew there was something different about that truck.... at least I don't remember ever seeing one quite like that. But not being a truck guy, I just figured it was me. 🙄 🙄
AS ALWAYS JOHN, AMAZING CONVERSIONS!!Â
Since it meets criteria one in my replica automobile acquisitions (I like it) and I wasn't around in 1940 to see all Dodges come off the assembly line, I am still very happy with this Solido model !
I also have a Thiries Packard roadster that I bought from Dick at one of the 1/43-model conventions some years back.

I would have never noticed such a detail! Well done, but a bit creepy! 😒 😆  But I really love the wood rails you added to the open pickup - very cool idea! 😎
Thank you ! Dodge cars/trucks are always such good-looking vehicles that, from then to now, they are without question, hardworking and dependable transportation. It is enjoyable to have a bunch of Dodges in various scales and materials. And my family had several full-size, real 1:1 Dodge automobiles with them also being a client of my Dad's.Â
