Mike, I applaud your modifications.  You have turned an interesting taxi into a most interesting sedan.  But I'm just like Frank;  my '58 Fury by WM is as close as I can come.  As I hunted through my displays, I was surprised how few of the finny fifties I have.   Hmmmmml......

Would you settle for a rather nice '56 DeSoto?

Thanks, David ! That '56 DeSoto is a real sweetheart. DeSoto only had a short time left, but produced some great-looking cars, and, after all, Groucho said, "Try a DeSoto before you buy your next car".

Excellent conversion Mike. I have models of the Fury hardtop and convertible. For years I never gave a thought to the 59 Plymouths but about two years ago I bought a white metal model of the hardtop and then the convertible. I have since begun to really like the Fury for 59...the 1960 is something I'm still working on. MY collection contains many cars I have no interest in owning in 1/1 scale including the 60 but I absolutely love having them in Miniature.

Thank you, Bob. Those '59 Fury's certainly must make for fine models of their upscale offerings for that year. It's amazing how varied the Plymouth line was between 1958 and 1962 (actually 1965). And I like all of them for their different design choices and quirks !

Mike, I took a hint from you at the old place and this is the easiest conversion I've done. Pop the roof and the checkered taxi decal can be easily covered with a black marker. Invert the tires and you've got an unmarked police car. Thanks.

John Quilter, post your photos in B/W and you've got the cars from Peter Gunn.

@john-quilter  Peter Gunn was a private eye detective character in a TV show of that name...late 1950s.

Peter Gunn aired from 1958 until 1961 and almost all vehicles were Chrysler products.

Seems like the whole show was shot at night.

There's even a 1959 unmarked Plymouth Savoy cop car pictured at the link.
