This is a 1972 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am as done some years back by Welly in about 1/40 scale. Trans-Am Firebirds were great looking automobiles, and in 1972, still had some V-8 performance under the hood. Welly did a good job on this model and it was available at a low price in several different colors.
I know the doors open on this Welly - and the model doesn't look that bad - but just why they chose such an odd scale is a mystery. Many others, such as IXO, NEO, DeAgostini, Autoworld, Motormax, Matrix, Greenlight, Yatming, and New Ray also produce various 1970's 1/43 Trans Ams at all price points. Nice pics, I think blue is the best color for this one. 😎
Looks good from were I'm sitting!

Agreed; it looks great!! But also wonder why the odd scale. So close to 1/43, why didn't they just make it that scale? Your usual incredibly good pics Mike!
My favorite Trans AM (70-72) I'm with Chris on why they chose the odd ball scale.
I think perhaps in this case, Welly makes a 1/18, 1/24 and 1/32 scale 1972 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Since this one was bought at a CVS Pharmacy while waiting to pick up a prescription, this model was actually meant to fit their standard plastic tray that is displayed in those stores toy aisles.
Thus, many of these "pull-backs" are sized to fit in the plastic display trays they are allowed at such places, sometimes resulting in such a scale. It still looks really good and in a photograph nobody really knows but you !
I love it.
