Is the fire chief car based on an actual vehicle?

Not to any specific vehicle but based on research at the factory using photos of typical vehicles of that year/period. Hope that helps.

FDNY never ran those as Chief's buggys, so it is a fantasy model. If you are ...
going to do an FDNY model, there is a wealth of pics out there.

I am not sure what your point is. I think it is a nice tribute to the actual FDNY whether they used these or not.

Sorry to say I'm with Lloyd. Trying to limit my MODEL collecting to actual vehicles.

We did use the wealth of pics out there and then picked the most suitable vehicle form the Brooklin range.

Its not an unsuitable car to use as many were service vehicles (taxis, etc.)
