PICS -- Franklin Mint 1953 Packard Caribbean
I recently picked up this FM '53 Packard on the cheap on eBay. I obtained this unit inexpensively because it's not the most attractive 1/43 in the world. In an effort to improve the looks of the '53 Packard, I added the better-detailed wheels from an FM '55 Packard.
IMO, the new wheels go a long way to improving the looks of the '53. A special thanks to a forum participant who was kind enough to send me the wheels from his broken '55 Packard.
I took the below pic before I adjusted the wheels on the '53 Packard so that it would sit better.

Dillon- I'm one of the few who will say it, "I like these FM Packards." Thanks for posting. I have both of these, along with other Packards, and I think the '53 looks good.
David's right,Those Packards are nice models.
They are not bad Dillon. Against the big gaps, I display mine with one open door, and put a little figure in the open door. The only thing you can't fix, most of the FM's are too narrow. So, I display my 59 and 63 Eldorado from the side and I'm happy with ist.

PIC -- Thanks, Christoph. I display my FMs at my dealership and used car lot to...
Take advantage of their opening features (while hiding their gaps).
See below pic of my Studebaker-Packard dealership showing the '55 displayed with open hood:

Wonderful Dillon. Your dealership gets busy, perhaps you must expand in the next time.
Yes, Christoph. My growing dealership is bucking the general trends of the economy...
Not to mention the fact that Studebaker-Packard went out of business a long, long time ago. ๐
Thanks again for your nice comments.
Yes Dillon, Packard-Studebaker an many other companies are history, and in the last years
Oldsmobile and Plymouth are gone, and now Pontiac. Who is the next? Really sad times.... Let us hope, that the little 1:43 world will not disturb from that.
Christoph
Indeed!
