Well, I don't actually know this was a 1949 Frazer, but it rather looks a bit like one, at least in the front.
Especially to a small kid this really was a miracle, as a hidden small wheel underneath ensured it would not run off a table but instead suddenly change direction and drive away. You can imagine what delight a little kid would have watching this one in action.
I was really small when my Dad or Grandpa got me this as it says made in the American Zone of Western Germany.
Sure looks like a Frazer to me, especially in the front. It is very cool. As a kid that must have been awesome to have. Heck, I think I’d be thrilled with it now, I love this kind of stuff.

I have a model of a 49 Kaiser that looks just like the gold car. I believe Buz had two colors of that model at the Chicago show. I love the windup toy Mike.
Both the Frazier and Dodge fit the timeline. Because Tekno made a copy of this toy Schuco, I did some research on these. The Schuco does say Made in US Zone – Germany on the baseplate which was 1945 to up to perhaps 1955. Also, another collector reported that the Schucos were introduced in 1951. So that makes sense!
My Tekno copies (2 different versions: Miraco and Gyro):

Thanks for showing us your Schuco, Mike! I had a chance to buy these Tekno in the 1980s, but back then, I did not like their toy-like appearance. Later, I decided to pick them up to be a completist and paid a lot more Kroner for them!
To me, this looks like a stylized 47 Pontiac mostly for the Silver Streak on the hood.
@bob-jackman Yep. The central "waterfall" trim on the hood would suggest a Pontiac.
Such great photos plus Tekno copied it, so I had to pass this Schuco on to a different audience: https://www.maronline.org.uk/another-mirako-car/
Thanks, y'all!
Thanks, Karl ! Techno did reproduce this one just the same and both are pretty cool items. I believe I still have my red Schuco version of this one, too. You can imagine what astonishment and delight a small kid would have when this one ran around the coffee table without going over the edge.
