Pics of my GFCC Lincoln with wheel change. Someone please resize.
Wheels are from an ERTL 49 Merc hot rod. Should I leave them red or remove the red?photo no longer available

Are you going for a hot rod Lincoln?
BTW what wheel substitute did you use before for the Lincoln and the Buick?
Jay I thought about that Hot Rod Lincoln, got the side pipes from the Merc.
but maybe a different color car...my choices would be black or red. Road Champs also has good hot rod changes. On the Buick I used FM Packard wheels.

Thank you David. What do you think of the wheels?
Bob, one other question. How did you remove the wheels?
Did you pop the bottom off? Details would be appreciated.
I have problems with this Lincoln's roof lines, especially at the windshield. The new wheel covers jar with the body color. They look vaguely Oldsmobile to me. But since this Lincoln is a favorite 1:1 of mine, I expect a lot!

As I said in an earlier post about this model ...
... if the 56 Lincoln is a real favourite of yours you should probably invest in the Neo version, if you haven't already.

The GFCC has a certain charm to it and I bought one because I thought the Neo, at twice the price, somehow looked a little cold and less characterful, for some reason. But it is well done and does have a more accurate roofline and wheels. And proper chrome rather than silver-grey paint.
Only thing is, you'd have to break it open and fit your own air-conditioning pipes in the rear window! Now there's a challenge.
Meanwhile, I wouldn't mind a nice '57 in 1:43.

I agree. Would like another '57 Lincoln in 1:43.
Graeme, The windshield and the chrome header are too high and incorrect on the NEO also.
Well, I did wonder about it.
Looking at different pictures of the real cars from different angles, sometimes the front screen does look lower and kind of "shrouded" by the front edge of the roof

and in other pics the screen does seem to rear up quite strikingly into the roofline

Also, in some photos the brightwork line above the doors seems to level out at the front (my first photo above) and in other shots (lower photo) it seems to keep rising very slightly, just like the GFCC model! Not sure if there was actually any difference between the sedan and coup? roofline in that respect, or whether it's just a trick of perspective. Maybe the coup? roof does actually have a continuous fall right along it's length.
Certainly I think the Neo is less obtrusively "high" at the front, even if it's not perfect.

There's a NEO one on Ebay at 60 quid...good value I would think!
Windshield header
Graeme,
You are spot on regarding the overhang of the chrome strip over the windshield.
The Neo screen is slightly high and not recessed under the chrome. It appears taller than the GFCC. I just received the model from China, and the windscreen is recessed under the overhang, Just too tall.
In that case, I'm glad I bought the cheaper model!
