I have mostly if not all the books that have been published about Pierce Arrow and even many replicas of hood ornaments, the most impressive being the Franklin Mint I;I Archer issued around the 90's.

Of course, Brooklin did many Pierce Arrows as well as some others but none were detailed enough to convince me to add one. The lack of accuracy of the hood ornament was a serious turn down.

Last year, KESS came with a beautiful replica of the 1933, 1247 Convertible Sedan .......

The hood ornament is detailed and shows exactly as it is supposed to be.

Love that hood ornament! I also look for that level of accuracy in my models. Unfortunately, it is not often found.

The detail and fidelity of the model is superb but to my eye it appears undersized.

My friend and I showed this car 1:1 at Pebble Beach in 2022. Beautiful car. He bought it from the Academy Of Arts in San Francisco a few years ago when they started selling most of their collection. It needed some work which I helped with like an engine overhaul and detailing along with other cosmetic issues to get it to a "Pebble Beach level." Like the '54 Chrysler Ghia I posted the other day my friend had no idea that Kess had seen this car at one of it's entered concours to copy and make a model of it.

@parisi50 What a small world!  So do both you and your friend have the 1:43 version now?  I hope so...

The model has the pilot ray lights. I'm guessing Kess used artistic  license by adding them.

Very few 1/43 scale models are accurate about size. This is an observation I did a long time ago.

At some point this become disturbing because you cannot display together two models of the same brand without noticing one is too narrow compared to the other but length wise they appear fine. This applies to both resin and white metal models.

I have never see such discrepancies in 1/24 and 1/18 scales and even in 1/12.

@nickies

“Very few” might be to strong of a statement, but I have noticed size discrepancies in some of my white models. I have too few resin models to have an opinion on their overall accuracy.
