The box says so, but did the well-known English firm had different boxes and did they ever do an Italian car?

Karl, that looks like a fantastic model...actually it looks like a flying saucer.

Karl they had Gems & Cobwebs, 43rd. Avenue, and of course, Milestone Miniatures.  I used to deal directly with Bernie (Bernice) and they did many things aside from their standard ranges: subcontracted work as well.  I'm pretty sure I've seen this Volante marked as Milestone before now.  I like their models.  One dealer once described them as looking "clean" ; by which they meant to infer less detailed.  But whilst this may be so, I felt they carried enough detail and brightwork to convey the essence of the car.

Thanks, y'all! Merci!  The full scale Flying Saucer was very clean as well, so I think Milestone pulled it off very well!

Karl, I think Bob is exactly right and this is a fantastic replica. Very sleek and in a great color. A UMO : an Unidentified Modeled Object !

I've just browsed through the data base and found an important item missing : the T-top Buick in metallic amber.  This is the only photo' I have and can't remember year or series details as it's so many years since I've seen it!  I shall have access to it over the next few weeks and so will try to take better shot.  I also include a Gems & Cobwebs 1938 2.5 litre Jaguar; the first colourway of their vauxhall and different colourways on their '51 Studebaker Champion and of the Ford Torino, which I don't recall seeing

Very nice Charles. I currently have 27 Gems & Cobwebs models, mainly Jaguars, in my collection.

@david-green When I return to London next week (I hope) I shall collect an SMTS Jaguar XJS convertible (in metallic oyster ! ! ! ) and my plan is to try and locate your Jaguar post and add it.  Whilst on that thread, I shall look for your Gems And Cobwebs Jaguars: It would be nice to see them all together!

@charles-rockett

Regarding all together, that is something that I still need to do. That SMTS oyster XJS sounds interesting.

@david-green I shall post the XJS as soon as I can.  But won't hold my breath, whilst waiting to see all your Gems & Cobwebs together!

Fedor did some excellent detective work when he bought some old MAR issues and went through them all page by page.  He discovered that this Milestone is actually the third company with this same name!  The third Milestone Miniatures was founded by Stephen Barnett.  He introduced two Alfa Romeo Disco Volantes in late 1989-1990, the Coupe and Spyder. Made in UK. Chris reports that Barnett was associated with one-off mega builds mainly in 1:43rd scale: https://www.stevebarnettmodelcars.com
