Renault Scénic Taxi Paris 1998 from City. Anyone has it?
I got an almost perfect model except for the taxi sign on the roof. I want some close up photos of the sign to help a friend create a replacement.
Thanks in advance.
I scored a 64 Mini Marque Continental Convertible
I got a great deal on it but the windshield frame is broken, very fragile as well. Does anyone have a source for a replacement? I could use a windshield too, the old one is pretty yellowed with age, a problem that seems to be common with MMs.
While were talking replacements...Does anybody have the rear bumper for a MMQ '57 Studebaker?

Hello, I can not help you with the frame on your car, but I maybe able to help with the windshield. I recently found on ebay in the model car category (plastic models) a product called EVER-CLEAR WINDSHIELD SYSTEM. Suppose to be a glue free system. Basically a kit to cut out your own windows. Looking at the kit I have I could see where it would work for some 1:43 applications and maybe not for others. But it might be worth a try. It was not expensive to buy so it is worth taking a chance. Any way that was my thinking. I just got the kit this last week and have not used it yet so I can not comment on that as of yet. I think it was designed for 1:24 models but should work for others as well. Anyway something to think about. Take Care, RANDY B.
Hard luck John!
The main break on all white metal convertibles is the screen - I lose count of the number of people who email me asking for help with replacements. Unfortunately once a screen breaks it's virtually impossible to repair, and more often than not irreplaceable too. The problem is even worse on those models where the screen is part of the casting as the model needs a reshell - making it virtually worthless. Let me know more details on your model and I'll see if there is anything else that might fit.
Thanks, Randy. I'll take a look.
Thanks, John.
It's a seperate part of the model, glued to the body with a rear view mirror (seperate as well) hanging from the middle. It has a fairly unique shape, very elegant on the 1:1 car, and is chrome plated plastic.
John K. Another idea you can try.........
This is a little crazy, but I have used it before with good luck. And maybe you have already thought about it. But you can use the clear plastic that fruit, tomato's and pasteries come in. Usually the plastic is clean and scratch free and can be cut easily. I have used this on a Brooklin Studebake that the windshield frame was broke. I cut the post to make them even and then cut some plastic out of a tomato container for a speedster type windshield. It worked good but it was just a square peice so it was easy. I have used it for building windows as well. I know a little out there but it works great in some case. I am done now ! Take Care and Goodluck, RANDY B.
Wow! Another great idea. Thanks, Randy!
Now all have to do is get over my aversion to buying vegetables 😉
John K. I know what you mean about....
the veggies, but lucky for me my wife and kids eat them so I am in the plastic business. I have actually been in a store and bought something just because I thought the plastic would be good for a certain car. It was rounded on one part to fit under a winshield frame. It just goes to prove that we have to pay closer attention to things and it will all work out HA HA ! Have a Great Day, RANDY B.
Which 60's Continental is more accurate - Mini Marque or Century?
I've never seen these model closely.
John.MM Lincoln
John.
Maybe a Franklin mint 61 Lincoln frame would fit?
Otto,Mini marque or Century
I have both and the Mini marque looks like the winner.
I'll keep an eye out for one.
