I'm taking a break from diecasts this week to post some resin models purchased thus far this year. David Greene has done a great job cataloging the models and history of Le Mans (currently waiting on 1960), but these Spark models arrived too late for inclusion. We all read about the tragic crash which resulted in M-B withdrawing from the race while in 1st and 3rd places, and from all racing for many years afterward. Here are all three cars.
No. 19 (Fangio/Moss)
No. 20 (Fitch/Levegh)
No. 21 (Kling/Simon)
Note the different tartan cloth seats on each. I used to have an MRF model which duplicated the air brake feature of this car, enabling it to be so dominant prior to withdrawal. Too bad Spark didn't follow suit.
