I remember the excitement I’d experience when the latest issue of the Dominion Quarterly would show up in my mailbox. I’d pore through it, looking at all the newest releases and the page that offered great discounts. I’d invariably end up calling him to secure my order, usually for new Brooklins. It was a thrill to finally put a face to the voice when I met him at the 1:43 show for the first time, the same time I met Dick Browne. Meeting two living legends of the hobby had my heart racing and my palms perspiring. But both put me at ease. Bob remembered my last order and my areas of interest, which impressed me and made me feel like more than a sale.

I am quite sad to hear of Bob Hooper's passing.  I met him only once, at Macungie in 2015, but I had spoken with him countless times about our hobby.  I am grateful for all the knowledge he shared over the years, not to mention access to some wonderful models.  He seemed to know all the folks that made the 1/43 hobby go.  He forged a partnership with the late John White, who did a fine job painting Brooklin models in alternative colors.  While I and so many others will acknowledge he was a wonderful fellow to do business with, right now it just feels like I've lost a good friend.

@bob-jackman Ive known Bob Hooper for a long time and acquired all the remaing Motorcity/Design Studio parts from him as he was getting tired of digging through them. This is always sad to hear of another Icon passing and I hope and pray that the greedy vultures don't pounce on his inventory. This happens a lot.

I am very sorry to see this, while I never met Bob in person, I've had many conversations on the phone with him. As I began my adventure in 1/43 scale models, Bob was instrumental in helping me find many models I was just discovering and wanting to add to my new interest. He was a great guy and a true gentleman.
