Shows, Meets, Conventions

Past posts #9487, etc. I put on the very successful 1979 National Model Car Convention in the Detroit area. I put on one for AMS (Auto Modelers Society) in 1989, not as successful. And about 13 for my Toy Car Collectors Club (TCCC)in the 1980's and 90's, even less successful. I went to several IAAM conventions in the 1960's and 70's that were on Saturdays. So when the shows (swap meets) started on Sundays it was natural to combine the two.

Now it is 2010 and there are big shows for Hot Wheels but not much else. I talked to one guy in the Detroit area so far about a convention in 2011. But this summer has lots of opportunities to have small meets. We cannot all get to them all but we can get a few together several places. Greg Gunn wants one in Toledo, there is the Woodward Dream on 21 August, Macungie on 6-9 Aug, Toledo (John Carlisle) in early Oct, and Hershey (AACA) then also.

In Detroit, I have a guest room for two friendly people, free. Anyone have a house trailer that sleeps four for Macungie or Hershey?
