Brooklin’s Chevrolet Impala convertible with top up/down feature is a beautiful model and this convertible feature is certainly the way to go with convertibles. After all, it does rain and tops are to keep out inclement weather even in 1:43 scale. On this Brooklin, however, both the top and the boot fit loosely and slide off easily. A very simple solution is to place very thin strips of caliber Mounting Putty on the places as shown below. The top pieces fit securely, can be changed easily, and the putty is invisible and won’t harm the finish. It will work on the NABCC Buick Century convertible should this be an issue with the Buick as well. For some this will not be an issue, but for those who handle our models at all this simple procedure works.
Nice cars, these Impalas.
