On one of mine only the hood suffered this problem.
I was able to reproduce a new hood from sheet aluminum, J B Weld etc and restore the car. Wonder if the hoods were cast from a different batch of mazak? One of my three conversions on these Impalas.

Per special request, more 1964 Chevrolets
These are all modifications of the black Ertl Impala SS two door hardtop.

I got rid of the big honking engine for the two door sedan and built a 250 cid six.

And since I had a few plastic tops left over from the Ertl SS I transplanted that on to a James Bond Series 1963 Impalas SS convertible. Waste not want not.

And after doing the '64 Impala wagon, I needed the similar Oldsmobile and couldn't stop there so did up a sedan as well. These are both from ME-MOD resin kit modifications.
