@jack-dodds the full restoration portfolio was included with the sale back at the time. The buyer was a Buick dealer from Chicago who was already owning an extensive Buick collection. I will always remember he sent his brother- in- law to Vegas to inspect the car to make sure it was a full and documented restoration.
The last time I tracked it was at a RM Auction back around 2009. It left my ownership in Cumulus Grey, Sequoia Cream top and red leather interior as represented in this photo.
As for the parts books and shop manuals, I sold them several years later alongside with ironically a brand new set of parking lights and lenses.
I am looking forward to the Stamp 1949 Roadmaster Sedanette and hope they get it right.
@nickies A beautiful HT Richard and I love the colors. I too look forward to the STAMP '49 Buick.
when I restored my 1949 Buick Riviera 25 years ago
Thanks Richard, the '40's and '50's Buicks are some of my favorites.
I would love to see the books for the 1950 grill replacement parts, and any pics you might have of your '49 Riviera.
The six models lined up are Conquests (except the Western models 1957 Chevy), the red 1948 Buick is a Motor City, and the two 1941 Buicks are highly detailed Western Models.
@ben-lampson I had all of these white metal Buicks at some time when resin was inexistent. I sold them 20 years ago.
The books were called Body Master Parts Catalogs from GM. There was also one very specific to the 1949 Riviera body and trim.
Here is the 1950 Buick grille assembly coming from the original Master Parts Book......
This was definitely very expensive to fix and certainly a challenge to adjust after even a minor collision.
I love your display of Buicks Ben; the '55 Special/Century 2drht. is my favorite year and body style.
@jack-dodds Jack, I love those slide controls on the dash. To me, the 54-56 Buicks were all beautiful cars steeped in tradition.
@bob-jackman For sure Bob. As I say the '55 is my favorite but other than the '58 I love all the 50s Buicks.
