In locating and photographing a red '54 Desoto I thought that some of you might enjoy seeing some of my built in display shelves. These contain cars and a few aircraft of the same era, showing how the evolution of design, late '20's into the early '60's. That is when my interest began to wane because autos seemed to lose their personality about then, with a few exceptions IMHO. Anyway, "on with the show".

Final two shots: a) Locates the two displays within the bookcase that separates the room into two display areas. This room, The Car Story Room, is an automotive reference library.  b)There is also a TV and cabinet full of VCR's and DVD's all dedicated to to the automobile. c) The models being 3-D representations of the automobiles story.

That's a great collection and a fine display of them, too ! They really are transportation and styling history in miniature.

That is a very nice display of a very nice set of models.  I have two wall mounted display cases, see following photos.  They were both custom made of hardwood, originally for O or S gauge model trains, and each shelf has a sliding glass door.  I purchased them in the mid-1990s.  Today, I use them for 1/43 scale cars, 1/64 scale trucks, and 1/64 scale trains.  For those who have been reading the recent DeSoto post, you will see my six car DeSoto collection in first picture, second shelf from top.  The seventh car on that shelf is a 1961 Plymouth station wagon.

Steve, nice collection, well displayed. I especially like your automotive reference library room with its seating. Looks like a nice place to relax.
