Because I have a strange fondness for Horchs from around WWII, I decided to buy an Ilario Horch 853 A Spezial Roadster.
Not as flamboyant as the Voll & Ruhrbeck-versions, they were also loved by many Nazi-leaders.
Here it is, picture taken from Ilario's web-site.
I surely hope it will be accepted by the rest of my collection, existing of 99 % American cars.
Zis will be fun, Herr Oberst....
It is really nice and I am sure it will be accepted by all the other cars in your collection ! That silver color is especially attractive for this one.
It is a gorgeous car/model Joop.
I read of a marvellous comment from a Russian oligarch who'd just bought a Voll und Ruhrbeck Horch , when asked about its third reich heritage, he answered something to the effect that: of course Russians would want to own them!
I decided to get the closed version, too...
Just to let it have a little company among the overwhelming US cars......
Picture from Robert Budig website.
I bought the model from him.
It is a little darker than the open version, it looks good.
Budig's store is in my view the 'go-to' store in Europe. Good prices, quick efficient service and when you want help: no problem!
I sold a few for Mr. Bashmashnikov way back then.
Wish I had kept one of each for my own collection....
This qualifies for the "I should have"......
Wow, that's beautiful, John ! A great view of this one and as Joop's pictures also clearly show, the silver color is a knockout on these models/cars.
