Cadillac made 5 examples of Eldorado Biarritz showcars in 1958, utilizing technology that would raise the top and windows in the event that a drop of rain was detected. All were destroyed after serving their purpose, but two were hunted down and resurrected from boneyard parts. The stories of the two existing cars are here:

Stamp (GLM's GM brand) has made both. The metallic blue car looks like a typical Biarritz and is called 'prototype' on the box. The red car is distinctly different and reputed to have been used by Harley Earl. It has 1959-style tailfins but a lot of the typical chrome accents on sides and fenders are absent. The box calls it a "concept". Each is an LE of 199.
I'm glad these were produced. Each represent a high point in GM's rich history of automotive dominance in the 1950's.
The red car is certainly unique with the 59 style fins. I never knew about this car.
These both look great. Your post prompted me to find mine and open them up. I received them a few weeks ago, but my schedule just hasn't permitted much "model time" of late. They are both exceptional. I chose the closed versions of both, as well as the open version in blue. When they were announced, this is a car I did not know had ever existed, I was intrigued and am very pleased with my models.
