Had the chance to add this one by 43rd Avenue to my collection, thanks to Buz's Route 66 "Fabulous Model Car Friday" last week:

20250907 163752
20250907 163805
20250907 163828

Talk about the "WOW" factor, this '59 Dodge 4-door hardtop has got it in spades!

For years I considered the '59 Dodge styling a very heavy-handed facelift. The older I get the more I have warmed up to it. It comes across quite nicely in your new acquisition.

Very nice ! What a great-looking 1959 Dodge. I have a couple of '59 Dodge coupe and convertible SunStar 1/18 forms of this one and they are all-time favorites in my collection.

Love this model but on mine I added the correct second color below the side molding that the model company left off.

1959 Dodge 4 dr ht #3
1959 Dodge 4 dr ht #4

And don't forget the NEO Custom Royal hardtop and convertible.    And just now as I type, on the work bench, is going to be a two door sedan in California Highway Patrol livery.   Yes, the CHP did buy big engined 1959 Dodge two door sedans that year.

Awesome Barry - and of course John has the "mod factory"  in full swing!  Or should I say, "Swept Wing?"    😀

Thanks for pointing this out, John!

I looked at the 1959 Dodge sales brochure and sure enough, the two-tone paint scheme needs the correction you made...unfortunately, my skills are not up to the task so I'll just have to enjoy my "error version"!

Nice catch Barry. I had considered this one but instead bought the 63 300 Indy Pace Car to add to my PC collection. The model came with black wall tires but I had a set of correct white walls so I made the switch.

I owned a '57 Dodge Coronet Lancer 4-door hardtop, as a collector car, for over 10 years.  The '59's were a bit more garish but still pretty cool IMO.  😎 😎

@john-quilter You're trying to replicate the one Neo already did?

Yes, it's rare, only 500 pcs built...

No, no.... NEO goofed it.   They replicated a 2-dr hardtop when it should have been, as John is correctly doing, a 2-dr sedan.  Those '59 Dodge Police vehicles had "B-pillars."

I looked for one of the NEO CHP cars but could never find one.  Would have added the B post (but maybe the roof line was slightly different than the two door sedan?)  so I had to build up one from a 3D print from Poland.

@john-quilter Yes John, those roof lines are different.  Two & four door sedans shared the same roof panel (with B pillars in slightly different locations of course ).  The 2-dr hardtop roof was unique to that model.

Thanks for that, I will proceed accordingly with my 3D model.
