Yes, I've painted another Danbury Mint pewter model, this time the 1914 Stutz Bearcat.  It is larger than 1:43, but it's a pretty good model anyhow.  Note the background has no color since everyone knows color wasn't invented until the 1950's.

That colorless background calls for an addition, a period toy from the 1920 era and the Mohawk Toy Company:

I read a book once that said colour was actually invented in November 1947.

But I'm not going to argue the point.
