There is something wonderfully incongruous about the 1959 BMC 5-ton transporter. With its enormous slab-sided body, sweeping windscreen and vivid red-and-cream BMC Competitions Dept. livery, it looks more like a piece of streamlined 1950s industrial design than a conventional racing support vehicle.
