Very nice display. What were approximate dimensions (width and depth)?

A very nicely done and impressive display. Thank you for posting John. I am glad that you showed us them on home image first. I am not sure which I like best. B&W is nostalgic.

@ed-davis

Well, I don't recall the exact dimensions - but I can tell you what I use for these types of displays. If you've ever been to a hardware store that sells the paper lawn waste bags in those big cardboard boxes like we do at Ace. That's is my base. over the years I've cut and taken home a couple of the sides, probably 4'x4' or slightly larger. That piece is set up on two sawhorses, using straps to hold it down from the wind. They are attached from underneath. I have a large piece of green fabric grass that lays over the top and. The dirt/gravel look is sandpaper sheets and a coarse sand (like pool filter - play sand can be used too, but it's usually too fine for my tastes). I keep the sand in bowls in my diorama kit, which I reuse when I'm done. I also have sticks, rocks, and other "natural pieces" all kept in my kit too. I add the trees/bushes, which I have loads of in all different types and sizes. It's so much easier at this house vs the one in Canton, I don't have any neighbors on the south side of my house as I live at the end of a court. So, all the greenery, trees & grass is natural and serves as a background. In Canton I had to construct elaborate backdrops to cover everything I didn't want included.

Yes John, MANY thanks fore posting the color shots. B&W is, without a doubt, more artistic. But the color is easier to discern and softer on my eyes.

Fantastic photo art.

@jcarnutz Your talent for collecting and building dioramas is incredible John. The time to set up this diorama had to be extensive. By the way, our local Ace Hardware Stores are sponsors to the two car clubs, of which, I am past president . One of their stores is the site where we do a cruise in . The owner tells me that the cruise in is the biggest day of the year. Representatives for the various grills cook various treats for the car owners throughout the day. A fun event not only for the car owners  but also the employees who pick their favorite cars.
