This 1:43 kit of the Shelby Cobra with its 289 Ford engine was copyrighted in 1990 and produced as one of the MONOGRAM ULTIMATES. It is an interesting model with some challenging features, including some fine wheels (even if they don't turn, doggone it). The figures are not included with the original kit. I had a part of a duplicate kit that gave me some needed extra parts, but not quite enough to let me try to remedy all my initial errors. I have had fun with this one!
Great looking kit. Very rare to see such engine and chassis details in a 43rd scale item. Franklin Mint 43rd scale items were the only others I recall.

You should get some HPI, Kyosho Ferrari, and AutoArt Lamborghini models John.
But this AutoArt Jag might be more at home with your other Brits.

Great job Harvey! The old Cobra kit from Monogram certainly brings back many fond memories. My two closest friends from Strictly 43rd worked at Monogram and pushed to get this AND the Corvette kit made. The photo-etched parts were a work of art in themselves. At out first contest were several of the kits built for judging. I even did one. Painted mine in a dark red body paint. I think I still have the Corvette, in its box. Ah, those were the days. Er, daze.
Very nice. I have a couple of these models stashed away someplace for future building
This must be 18th scale, right, Harvey? Autoart does some great 43rd but no visible engines.

Nope. 1:43. Here it is with a front license for a real Jag and other stuff.

And here is an example of an HPI Porsche motor.

On their Ferrari Daytona, with a magnifying glass I can read "Fram" on the battery.
Harvey's right on all counts. That AA Jag is phenomenal.

That Auto Art D Type is one I always wished I'd bought...
thanks for posting.
Excellent kits. I made a few and also used parts in other models.
It has one fault, in that no evidence of a spare tire can be found at the aft opening.
JR - Several on ebay, and for less than I paid.
Thanks Harv...I'll have a look
