The ALLSTATE, as sold by selected Sears stores in 1952-53, is just a footnote in most automotive histories.  But it's a special model in my collection anyhow.

I also like the license tags.

Have it, love it. Most young people have no idea that Sears sold cars. In the not too distant future young people won't know what Sears is.

Harv, the tail fins on your CTCS seem to be the "lightless" variety.  Mine has the Cadillac style.  I wonder why there is such a difference.

@d-m-holcombe I looked at Wikipedia for an answer David. The Henry J came out in 1950 and lasted to 1954 (a sell-off of 1953 models I think). In 1952 the taillights moved to the fins from their previous inboard body positions. It was also in 1952 that the Sears version appeared, with revised grille, hood ornament, hubcaps, identification badges and interior trim, and (of course) Allstate-brand tires and batteries. I'm guessing there was a transition period for the light position, so maybe some Allstates had the old lights? I found various pics of both versions when I searched for 1952 Henry J, the one below looking like an early Sears photo (note the '51 plate).
