Yes, it's stunning, with its little airplane-inspired-nubs for fins. 😉 😉 Stamp did an excellent job on this '49.
BTW - while I have you - and you're such a Cadillac kind of guy: Earlierly today I posted a few pics of MK Miniature's 1/64 1962 Sedan de Ville. Honestly, if one didn't know better, I do believe they might mistake this for 1/43.
The overall quality & fidelity of 1/43 and 1/64 seems to improve by the hour! 😬 😬 😬

Do we think the design of the Cadillac's tailfin taillights originated with the 1938 Buick Y-Job?

@mg-harv No, they did not. Cadillac's fins - those early nubs seen on 1949 models - were inspired by the WW II airplane known as the Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter. It's twin "tail-fins" are the great, great grandfather of those wonderful examples seen on 1959 models. 😉

@chris My comment was not so much the fins but the taillight design imbedded in the tops of the rear fenders.

@mg-harv Well, of course the taillights on Harley Earl's Y-Job and those seen on 1948 Cadillacs bear a strickling resemblance. It's therefore reasonably safe to assume that was NO accident, so.... "YES!"

@chris Thanks Chris! And referring back to the P-38, I was fortunate to see the roll out of the freshly-restored "Glacier Girl" in Middlesboro, KY in 2002. I tried loading a video here but couldn't get it to work. The plane ran very smooth and relatively quiet.
