In 1954-55 Renault constructed a turbine-engine powered car intended to set the world land speed record for cars with this engine type. Dubbed "Etoile Filante" (Shooting Star) Renault took the car to Bonneville in 1956 and set the record at 191.879 mph. This coincided with Renault's introduction of the Dauphine in the USA. The diecast is by Norev and was released around 2006. I also have a much older version by CIJ - this was a popular subject for toymakers in the mid-1950s.
