Excellent review John. Your comments regarding the paint colors are right on and period correct. My biggest reason for acquiring this model is to have a seldom modeled four door sedan and this one is a home run.

@bob-jackman My thoughts exactly Bob.  The colors on this one dictated that it was a "must have."

@jack-dodds, I just wasn't crazy about the colors until I saw them in person. It's an unusual combination, but it works!

@jkuvakas Yes it sure does work.  I remember that combination from my youth and always liked it.  Another great combo was with coral (dusk rose metallic) and gray metallic.

Another terrific review John (and I LOVE those colors!) but @ 2:04 you noted "Galaxie"  as a new nameplate for '58.  Actually, Galaxie trim/models didn't appear until 1959.

John, I watched all three My Take videos.  The videos are great, and the models look great.  Thanks again.

A terrific video review of this excellent Goldvarg 1958 Ford, John, It looks really good in those colors and the four-door is a  particularly attractive and well-done replica..

@chris, Thanks for the heads up. One of the guys on a Ford FB page mentioned it as well. I'm blaming Wikipedia! 😳

Actually, John, the Ford La Galaxie dream car did actually date from 1958. Hmmm, and I think Ford Styling chief Elwood Engel was a part of it's development and, a few years later, as Chrysler styling chief, was instrument in a certain Chrysler Turbine dream car, too. This is the Ford La Galaxie. Gee, look like anything ?

Chrysler borrowing from Ford? Hmm, a pattern emerges . . .

And I always though Ford stole the styling from the Jaguar Mark 10 and applied it to the Lincoln Town Car.   (1998-2011)  Fat sides, wrap around rear bumper,  traditional grill,  large chrome plinth over the rear license plate rounded quarter window in rear door.   And then there was the 1999 Lincoln Continental that looked, especially from the rear like a stretched Jaguar S Type on steroids.

@jkuvakas

actually, this is not a Fairlane. Ford called this vehicle a custom 300, but us old guys called it “customline”.
