My guess is that it's not quite as easy as it sounds. I don't really think any of our makers lack commitment to quality and accuracy. It's easy to critique a model from a few photos and it's easy to demand perfection. But gaining that perfection can be difficult and expensive, particularly when we're talking about designs that are fifty years old or even older. Many classics have been redone and then had the redo redone. Accuracy can be elusive.

Still, mistakes are made. But I hesitate to think a model maker has invested over $10,000 to bring a model to market only to get lazy at the last moment and cease to care whether it is accurate. Let's give them a break, folks. Our votes with our wallets are far more effective and speak louder than our online gripes.

@jkuvakas Certainly I can and do appreciate all of that.

I'm speaking more in a general sense. For example, when I see inaccurate trim, or whitewalls diameters, or wide wheels tracks, or "wrong"  colors, or "droopy"  body lines, etc.

How many of us have seen 1965 Mustang models, for example, that have "wide whitewall tires?"  Or 1950's & '60's vehicles with "modern"  wheel tracks, when a shorter axle would simply eliminate the issue (and save money ).

It's little things like this, that I fail to understand.  With 14,896,112 Mustang internet pics, you mean NO ONE can see that '65 Mustangs did NOT leave the factory with 3.5" whitewalls?   Or that a 1964 Mercury should NOT have wheels pushed out so far that they extend to the edge or beyond the fenders?

🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤨 🤨 🤨

@jkuvakas / @chris Sometimes inaccuracies creep in during production like the windows are too narrow due to the addition of a photo-etched part or the window/top unit includes an extra piece to aid assembly. For the latter please see @domi7777 https://diecast.org/community/1_43/lincoln-continental-1965-greenlight/#post-128004
