What is your matching set or the model than you put with the BRK 71 1955 Classic American Speedboat with the trailer?
Michel, My model is the same as yours in dark blue along with the engine cover.
The "Brooklin Model Collector's Guide, Vol 1" shows the colors you have there, Michel. It's correct.

@jkuvakas Just look the difference between both pictures.
The outside color is correct and identical but on the second picture it is like the steering wheel and the bench have been painted the same color as the outside of the Speedboat.
To my eye, the Guide shows the bench the same color as the outside of the boat. Of course, it's entirely possible there was more than one version.

@jkuvakas It is possible. On the standard boat, the steering wheel and the bench seem to be light blue. I am at the page 202 of the guide. I think the seller have painted the steering wheel and the bench dark blue to match with the rest.
Hi Michel,
I think the angle of the photo is causing the colour confusion. The seat bottom is dark blue on the one I own.
I paired mine with a 1948 Buick Wagon repaint by John Roberts that I acquired from Randall Olson over 10 years ago.
This is a lovely model of a great looking boat, but the actual colour of a Chris Craft Cobra is gold in place of blue. I assume they chose blue to avoid any licensing issues.
Or maybe they were inspired by the one below customized for Jim Street by George Barris?
A later rendition.
Good Luck, it's a great model!
Cheers!
Alfred
@alfredgee Thank you very much for the pictures. I see much better the interior of the speedboat on your photo. The Buick is a beauty. Is it the Buick showed in Randall's book GM in miniatures at the page 76?
Yes, that is the exact one. When I saw it in Randall's book, I asked if he was willing to part with it and he was kind enough to do so.
I further enhanced the Buick by painting the wheel lips red for extra "pop" so it will look slightly different from the book.
Cheers!
Alfred
@gianluigi. I had that set and now regret that I let it go.

I received the BRK 71 1955 Classic American Speedboat with the trailer and i am very impressionned for a model who has been product between 1999 and 2013 and hard to found. One of the best in my opinion.
This is the Dinky Toy Healey Sports Boat and trailer with the Dinky Austin Healey 100-4 in racing livery. Number 109. Question: was there a connection to the Healey boat and the Healey cars? Did Donald Healey also lend his name to boats?
