Hmmmm....those Fraziers look like they're 1/24!
I'd love to find one of those. Great pics.
Looking for these MOCs to add to collection
I am looking to add these MOC models to my collection---1949 Buick Riviera and Convertible TU and TD, 1949 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, 1947 Ford Sportsman TD, and 1948 Chrysler T&C Convertible TU.
They are rare but they do show up from time to time.
Me too Harv - can't wait to see 'em!

I'm with you on Chad Valley Chris. I recently bought a Hillman Minx on Ebay in very good condition - pale blue with a working motor. This is the third Minx - but the best one - I have. I was lucky enough to get the Humber Hawk which is very rare, plus the Sunbeam Talbot and Humber Snipe. How did the Ofsted go?
Somerville Hillman Minx convertible - top up. Rare, never seen one
I have a CV Minx as well John - this was in a sorry state ...
until a friend of mine, Alan Boughton, from the CDMC worked his magic and restored it! I bought it for ?10. It looks fantastic now!
I went back to a collectors centre today to obtain this milk lorry. It is in very nice condition and hopefully I will be able to take some snaps tomorrow.
Well John, I never saw the Ofsted inspectors. I have spent most of the past week "out of the office" taking students on field trips. So for me everything went OK!
Thanks for asking!
Cheers Chris

Arthur, 59 Buick Electra HT should be done...
in the WMCE one day, if you want more details than WM. I like the WM 59 Buick but I will be patient and wait for the WMCE.

For the benefit of we colonials, John and Chris, what is a "Chad Valley" model?
Is it a brand name of a dairy company or some such? And if so, and if they are
featured on milk delivery vehicles, why would they be on a Hillman Minx?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks!
Chad Valley is a toy company that was founded in 1860.
Nowadays all Chad Valley products are sold through Woolworths Stores, at least in the UK. The company have always made a wide variety of toys but in the 1950s they made a range of diecast vehicles. The Rootes Group were very forward looking when it came to publicity and quickly made an arrangement with Chad Valley to produce models of four cars - Hillman Minx, Sunbeam Talbot, Humber Super Snipe and Humber Hawk. These were finished in correct colours and were sold in Rootes Group garages. I suppose it was the nearest the UK had to the American promo models. On the base plates some models had 'A Rootes Group Product' inscribed in addition to Chad Valley and sometimes 'A Wee Kin Toy' was also inscribed. The models were clockwork and came with a key.
The Hillman and Humber Snipe turn up most often, the Sunbeam less so, and the Hawk is particularly rare.
Hope this helps - I'm sure there's more information to be included but this posting reflects my particular interest in the Rootes Group models.
Rick - here are a couple of sites that provide .........
information on the range of products prduced by Chad Valley:
