Just received the Stamp 1959 Cadillac CdV in what was termed "wood rose poly". Well, I am dubious to say the least. I admit my photos had to be modified to get close to reality but they are the best I could do. It strikes me as a light tan, perhaps with a hint of pink, and definitely no sign of "poly" (metallic).
I went online and searched for wood rose Caddys. Some look similar, but most look pink. They also vary depending on lighting. I have a Spark '59 Fleetwood 60 Special Sedan in wood rose poly, note the difference below:
The Auto Color Library chip seems to match the Spark rather well. So any opinions from the Cadillac experts here? Lloyd?
"....any opinions from the Cadillac experts here?"
Harv, I owned a '59 CDV in Gotham Gold (with Fawn Beige interior ) for many years. Here is a '59 Cadillac color chart. To my eyes, your Stamp looks like Wood Rose Poly. I'm not certain what color your Spark is (or is supposed to be ). It looks closest to Persian Sand, but.....
PS
The word "Poly" was used, virtually without any significant meaning.... don't let that bother you. Enjoy your Stamp CDV! 😎 😎
@chris I wonder if I am going color blind. That color chip looks exactly like the Spark 4-door to me.
"That color chip looks exactly like the Spark 4-door to me."
Hmmm..... Not to me.
Your Spark Fleetwood looks way off, but your Stamp CDV looks about right - it looks like Wood Rose Poly.
Sun can play hell with actual colors; all I can say is this... I've seen Wood Rose Poly, and it looks like the 3rd pic (the CDV ) you just posted.
The remaining 3 pics: The Fleetwood, the Series 62, and Eldorado do not look like Wood Rose Poly to me. They could be mislabeled, or it could be the sun, shade, and/or light.
To my eye the Series 62 looks like a 1956 color, Mountain Laurel. The Eldorado looks like Persian Sand, and the Fleetwood looks like a lighter version of Wood Rose poly. But of course, without seeing anything in person - it's impossible to be "positive."
Your Stamp Caddy looks great! The photos show different color variations on multiple body panels; no doubt due to lighting. But I agree with Chris in that the Stamp looks like the color chart's Wood Rose.
Loving the color!

Mine is in transit. I've seen a couple of listings on eBay that look like what Harv posted. I like the color.
Well, I'm not 100% sure what colour it is, or whether it is accurate, but it impressed me enough that I went looking on eBay and found someone in Germany with the model in Rosewood poly and have just placed an order.
Thank you for making my June credit card payment a little more expensive than planned, Harvey.

Harvey, Looking at my Ditzler Production Color book, the '59 Cadillac color card for Rose Wood Poly looks like your Stamp model, definitely not the Spark model. Also Poly refers in automotive paint terms to what is now metallic colors. Any color I look up in my production books that says "Poly" from the thirties thru the '60's which is where I stop is a form of metallic and is what they use to call poly. Some of the metallics can be VERY SMALL and look like a solid color if not really looked at closely especially in earlier years. Now days especially on Chrysler products, they are very coarse. I love the earlier very fine metallics. Your Spark model looks like it is finished in 1957 Cadillac Dusty Rose Poly from your posted photo.
I received this one in question and the Vegas Turquoise as well. Both colors look spot on. I have a friend that had one in Wood Rose, the model looks almost perfect (from memory) to his car. Unfortunately I haven’t any photos of his car. Either way I am thrilled with both of these and my other four ‘59 CDVs I have from Stamp.
Ain’t the ‘59 just grand. I can never have too many of them.
