In 1946 Willys, (pronounced “WILL’iss, not “Willees,”) manufacturer of Jeeps,) introduced an all steel station wagon, the first in the industry. Here is a comparison of the actual wagon to the U.S. Model Mint in 1:43. Note: The actual car pictured is a ‘46 model and the 1/43 is a ‘49 with over riders on the bumper.

I recall our Forum discussion on the pronunciation of Willys a year or so ago. Until then I had never heard it pronounced other than "Willies" here in Canada; maybe it changes throughout North America??

Those are great videos John. I feel vindicated! And speaking of pronunciation of car names, when Subaru first imported the 360, it was pronounced Su BA ru.

Those Willys Jeep wagon replicas look excellent. My Grandfather had a Willy Jeep station wagon from about 1950 or so and it is one of the first cars I remember.
