Many years ago I purchased these 1/72 scale diecast metal World War 2 aircraft. They were done very nicely by Forces of Valor and depict a P-40C Warhawk as piloted by George Welch at the Pearl Harbor battle ; a Soviet MIG-3 as used on the Eastern Front ; and a Japanese Mitsubishi Zero used by the Imperial Navy.

I love airplane models but have no room for additional categories. I do have a 1/200 scale Boeing C 17. The reason I have this is because each year our car club puts on a car show at the 172nd Air National Guard base to raise money for their family relief fund

Thanks for the airplane pictures. I am adding two pictures, which I showed here over a year ago. One has a pair of P-51 Mustangs and the other a F4U Corsair. The planes are 1/72 scale. The cars and people are 1/64 scale.

Really nice airplane and tank diecasts are made with 1/72 being a typical scale, as you show here. The Shrock Bros. Studebaker diecast/white metal automobiles I believe were eventually also made in 1/72 scale.

It's aircraft that got me started building and collecting models. Love these examples from WW II!

I loved all forms of transportation and built models of automobiles, airplanes, tanks, battleships, submarines, boats, etc. Smile

I used to have many of my plastic scale model planes hung up on thin wires stretched high up across my bedroom when I was a small kid. A couple of battleships were displayed on my dresser-top, lol ! Smile
