At the end of the 1950s,  Blasco Industries in Barcelona (Spain) started a series of miniature vehicles under the EKO name. In total, there are about 200 different plastic vehicles made in 1/87 (HO) scale.
The takeover of Anguplas occurred in 1967 after which most of the Anguplas molds were added to the range.
After several bankruptcies and resurrections, the brand has been reintroduced as "ToyEko" in 2011 and is presently active again, still using the old molds.

Here are two Mercedes-Benz cars from the range.

The Mercedes-Benz W196 was a Formula One racing car produced by Mercedes-Benz for the 1954 and 1955 F1 seasons. Successor to the W194, in the hands of Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss it won 9 of 12 races entered and captured the only two world championships in which it competed. This is the streamlined ‘Monza’ version with enclosed wheels.

The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL  is a two-door luxury roadster produced by Mercedes-Benz between May 1955 and February 1963.The 190 SL presented an attractive, more affordable alternative to the exclusive Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, sharing its basic styling, engineering, detailing, and fully independent suspension. The car was available either as a soft-top convertible (initially priced at US$3,998).

Here is a pre-1967 issue of the No.36 Anguplas Mercedes W196 Streamliner.

You can see that this is the same casting as used by EKO in the above post. Personally, I prefer the colour choice of Anguplas. They also made it in a dark silver with a black number 42 on the nose. This was closest to the actual F1 race car.
