About 20 years ago, Hot Wheels released several "up market" 1/64 sets called Legend Series. Here's part of the George Barris collection; I believe there were more... ??? 🤔 🤔 🤨
Overall, fairly decent miniature quality that still holds up today. I'm all but certain I know the favorite among this line-up. 😎 😎 😎
@perrone1 It's hard to believe that the Hirohata '51 Mercury was done around 1952 or so and still survives; albeit with an engine change and several updates.
I have fond memories of building the A La Kart AMT model kit as a kid.....I thought it was SO cool!
@chris I was talking about those you showed. I have no idea how many there are totally. My 1/64 scale models are not cataloged and I don't keep the packaging. Where possible, I display them with my larger scale models

I, too, have great memories of building these AMT kits and a lot of them were Barris inspired. Yes, the Ala Kart was one of them. Today, I'd need a strong magnifying glass to see the small parts and a strong Martini to keep my hands steady. LOL!

@karl Thanks! I honestly don't remember buying the full set w/case..... but I have it. I have only a few of HW's "Speed Legends," so perhaps that's where I got confused. Thanks again!
