Once I learned how to make RTV silicone molds to cast my garage diorama stuff, and got fairly good at it, I decided to try some racing and customizing stuff. Some pieces I took from other castings and some I made, to mold and cast from resin. Customizing and restoring these little gems was another way of enjoying this hobby...
I started with engine pieces to make up my own engines. Manifolds, carburetors, headers and engine blocks. Then I moved on to hood scoops, wheelie bars, rear spoilers and wings, racing seats, and even 3 styles of boot covers to make any car a convertible. With all these pieces to paint and detail, I have made close to 200 custom, one of a kind castings...
Here are a few of my own creations...
Here are a few simple repaints, wheel swaps and convertibles...
I even tried a custom hydroplane racing boat, and made the trailer also...
After my first cancer surgery, I was laid up for several months. Then the cancer spread to a kidney and that had to come out, but that surgery didn't go as planned. It laid me up for almost 9 months. Every time I went against doctor's orders and tried to go back to work, I wound up back in the hospital being sewn back together. So I had a whole lot of time on my hands. I had my own web site at the time and many other collectors were ordering stuff from me and that was how I was able to keep a few bills paid...

Neat stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks John, Bob, and David. I guess you could say I had a whole lot of laid up time during almost a 15 year battle with that nasty cancer and a dozen surgeries. When I wasn't in pain and somewhat functional I took advantage of the time to discover and learn more about this hobby and the many, many ways of enjoying it. Somewhere along the line it turned into more of a passion, and addiction I might add...LOL
I have only 3 more exams between now and January 30th of 2022 and if all is clear I can finally say I am cancer free. I do allot of praying and keep my fingers crossed tightly... Thanks again...

I have added my prayer for your full recovery.
I couldn't leave this post with out a comment. Your work is just fantastic. Love the Cadillac and the blue Falcon Pick up, but there's not a poor one in the group. Thanks for sharing, we never know our own strength until it is tested, best of luck my friend.
