I'm not sure if I have shared this before but it is my only surviving HotWheels red line car from buying in the late 1960s. Somewhat worn but original.

Chris's showing of the 80th Anniversary set reminded me that I had this.

Nice, and LUCKY you!    Like millions of other young boys, I destroyed, lost or traded ALL mine away; preserving any childhood memories wasn't even on my radar.  😫 😫

That is soooooo cool!  I've held on to only two of my childhood toys.  Those would be the Tonka fire truck and the Tonka auto transporter.  All of the rest, I've acquired in my adulthood as I tried to recapture those old memories from the late '50s and early '60s.

I can't remember if me or one of my brothers had the red line Mustang that David posted. When my Mom passed away in 2017 and the three of us were going through her house, I knew that she had kept some of the original red lines and Matchbox cars we got when we were kids in the 60s. I divided them up equally between myself and my two brothers. I don't think they were as excited to see them as I was, but I wanted to be fair about things. I sold some of the redlines along with an original collector case, the one that looked like a tire. I still have a couple of the redlines left along with some Matchbox cars and trucks from when they were still made in England by Lesney. I plan on keeping these for my son to have when I'm gone.
