This week in a local charity shop, I found these models that were made by Lesney back in 1959.
All are well played with but first editions.
The first two are from the original Models of Yesteryear series. They are both steam engines.
Y13- A1 1862 American 'General' Locomotive 'Santa Fe', an early edition without the Santa Fe Label. See my mint boxed version to compare.
Y14- A1 1903 'Duke of Connaught GWS (Great Western Railways) English Locomotive.
Lastly, an extremely rare grey Kemlows Antar tank transporter.
I thought this was Lesney/Matchbox when purchased.(Thanks Chris).
I no longer have this model from Matchbox in mint. For reference here it is from Major Pack 3 and included originally a Centurion tank shown below the Kemlows version.
Finding models this old outside of collector shows is not common. These cost me under $10 US funds for all three.
The Thornycroft Mighty Antar tank transporter you have purchased is a hard to find Kemlow version. The shape of the tractor unit differs from the Matchbox version as it has pronounced wheel arches. On the Matchbox trailer it has Sankey 50 ton Tank Transporter cast in on the underside. So, what you have is a hard to find model by the little known Kemlow company and the next question is how did it get to Canada? On a different note the Antar was never given the 'Mighty' tag in military parlance.

Thank you Chris. Kemlows is a brand that I am not familiar with and I need to do some research. Thank you for pointing this out plus the ‘Mighty’ name not being used for the military. Not sure how this got to Canada is it was a charity donation, possibly from clearing an estate, maybe from a British immigrant.
