Today I share pictures of a Castline/M2 model from the 1960's. This is a 1967 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport. Like the M2 models from the 1950's, which have been posted here, it includes opening hood and doors. The model has 2009 on its chassis.

What a neat model and even the detail of red / orange (?) rings on the tyres. And great diorama.

Thanks. The diorama is a gas station I built for my 1/64 scale train layout. It was made from a resin kit several years ago. I often use it as a background for photos with a single model car.

@ed-davis Sooner or later.... I too will have to build at least a few 1/64 buildings, dioramas or set-ups. I have ZERO scale backdrops for anything in 1/64. 😣  I need to find a junk  O-gauge train layout and pirate ALL the buildings. 🤨

@chris

You might want to consider some Department 56 buildings. Though they are often used at Christmas time with O scale trains (1/48 scale), many look better with S scale trains (1/64 scale). At one time I used some Department 56 buildings from their “Christmas in the City” series, and they worked well together. Just look at the doors on the buildings to see how they look if a 1/64 scale person is near them.

Very nice diorama with the 1967 Nova, Ed. Funny that you mentioned Department 56. I saw the full Ford dealership by them at my local flea market on Sunday. I picked up the 1965 Mustang in blue and white there. It looks larger than 1/43 but the buildings did look closer to 1/64.

If you bought the Ford dealership, would you provide a picture or two of it?

Hi Ed,

I didn't buy it as the asking price was $175 but here are a few images from the internet. It is ceramic and has lighting.

 Here is the Ford Mustang which cost me $10. This also is ceramic.

@ed-davis Hi Ed This petrol station is the perfect backdrop for posing your miniature car models and the figures add another lifelike dimension.
