Excellent video with one exception..towards the end he states that the Kaiser Darrin was the first fiberglass bodied American sports car. Corvette started building the 53 Corvette in 1952 while the Darrin didn't come out until 1954.

Thanks for this Kaiser video.  I have really liked the looks of this last Kaiser for many years, but I never owned one.  When they were new, I was too young.  As I grew older, the few surviving Kaisers did too, and became very uncommon.  By the time I started looking for one, they were collectors' items and I couldn't afford one as a third car.  And now I just don't need another car to gather dust.  I'll just keep enjoying the Kaisers in 1/43 scale.

I first became aware of the Kaiser in the late 50s as a boy.  A neighbor nearby had a '53 and back then I thought it was a very chunky, unattractive and rather strange looking car.  The peaked roof really put me off; overall it just looked stodgy compared to the Big 3 offerings of that era.  I only warmed up to this car in the last decade or so; mainly because of reading the opinions of others who appreciated it for reasons I hadn't noticed.  I have the two Brooklin offerings of this car and actually like them better in 1:43 scale than in 1:1.  I appreciate the car now more for its uniqueness than its looks, but for this reason I like to see it at car shows.
