...never liked this one. I realize the idea here is to "test"  design themes but this, IMO, is just too busy.

No kidding !! 

It looks like an overblown Corvette on steroids and what the hell is up with that shark fin in the back,  gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I would never want to be seen driving this.

It's not particularly attractive, which seems common with concept vehicles.  It is interesting how they have retained the Pontiac "suspenders" on the hood though.  The fin seems too coarse to my eyes and its placement gives the tail lights a slightly "cross eyed" effect.....but overall it certainly would generate conversation at shows!

I thought that too, but this was created right before Bunkie  Knudsen took over Pontiac and deemed those "old man suspenders"  outdated and ordered their elimination.

The "shark fin"is actually an early experimental GPS antenna. It is a bit clumsy-looking, but electronics components were not as miniaturised back then as they are now.

This is a very interesting dream car from Pontiac and I am glad it was saved along with a number of other Motorama idea cars. I think possibly a more "production-type" car would have likely mostly toned-down or even eliminated the very large single fin or perhaps made much smaller dual fins above the rear quarters. Yet the rear design without fins is very modern and interesting and with some tweaks could have been the basis for a very cool sporty Pontiac.

Chevrolet may have complained about a GM direct rival to the Corvette, so maybe this would have been tweaked to be a 2+2 or even 4 seater. The rear lights are very modern looking, so this one may have developed into a really neat Pontiac sports automobile.
