I used to like those color and body style charts that GM, Chrysler, and Ford used to print for displaying all their different makes. I remember too, that Goodyear Tire Co. used to give out posters in the 60's featuring many different car brands in a similar layout. Â

Cadillac, 129 interior colours, incredible!
Those were the days when you'd go to the dealership and ORDER your new car. You could order it with the options, color, motor, tires etc., that you wanted. And then it take a few weeks or so for YOUR car to arrive at the dealership. I remember doing this all the way in to the 1980's. Â

George, thanks for posting your Rear View Mirror series. My uncle had a black 1964 Dodge 880 and I really liked that car.
BTW, you can still order a new car or truck today. After searching dealer inventories and not finding anything I liked I ordered my Ram 1500 from the fleet manager and got exactly what I wanted. It was kind of fun checking off all of the boxes. I had to wait two months to get it and when it arrived, I was surprised to see what was printed at the top of the invoice.
Pete that window sticker is really neat. Beautiful truck.
64 Tempest was the first car my father ever bought new. Â Dark blue four door, Â I ended up with it after it had changed hands with my uncle in 72.

@pete-rovero, wow that is really cool. I ordered two cars over the years, one in 1978 and one in 1985, and I don't recall my invoice's having my name on them. Â
